To start our journey, enjoy a beautiful hour long coastal drive, with views of the Caribbean and banana plantations.

Later, we arrive to the town of Cahuita, with small shops and local restaurants serving up delicious tropical food. Discover wildlife rich Cahuita National Park, with it's pristine beaches, coral reef, monkeys, and sloths.

Your tour begins with a lovely coastal drive, exploring the variety of beaches along the way.

Our first stop is "Playa Negra" (in English="Black Beach"), famous for it's unique dark black sand and world class surf.

Then, we will stop by the laid back beach town of Puerto Viejo. There, beachside vendors offer local art, jewelry, clothing and souveniers. Afterword, we will enjoy a traditional Costa Rican Caribbean lunch.

Later we move on to Cahuita National Park. There you will have the chance to see stunning white sand beaches and Costa Rican wildlife, like monkeys, sloths, butterflies, leaf-cutter ants, and much more.

Finally, we head back up the coast to Limon.

Your trip starts with a 45 minute drive down the Caribbean coast, to our first destination: the Sloth Sanctuary rescue center (http://www.slothrescue.org).

The Sloth Sanctuary tour includes a one-hour, guided, canoe ride through the bayous of the Estrella River Delta where, if you watch carefully, you may see wild sloths as well as other inhabitants of the rainforest. Next stop is the Learning Center where you will view a short video about the sloth and meet some of the resident adult sloths. We’ve saved the best for last...baby sloths!  You will be introduced you to these tiny orphans and learn their stories. Of course, Buttercup, the Grande Dame of the Sanctuary, is waiting patiently and slowthfully for her turn to meet you, as well. A browse through the gift shop (proceeds also support the sanctuary) brings the Sloth Sanctuary Tour to an end. Additionally, you can take an optional, self-guided walk through the two well-maintained jungle trails.

After the Sloth Santuary tour, we will head to Cahuita for a delicious Caribbean lunch. Then, on to Cahuita National Park to enjoy the afternoon at the pristine white sand beaches, seeing more of Costa Rica's wildlife. Finally, an hour drive up the coast takes you back to the ship in Limon.
